The Leapfrog Top Hospital award is widely acknowledged as one of the most competitive honors American hospitals can receive.

The designation is Henderson Hospital’s third consecutive ‘A’ grade from The Leapfrog Group.

The six hospitals of The Valley Health System have been honored by the American Heart Association (AHA) with its Mission: Lifeline® Quality Achievement Awards for implementing specific quality improvement measures outlined by the AHA for the treatment of patients who suffer severe heart attacks.

Danielle Gillespie was ready for a fun night watching the Las Vegas Aviators when her emergency nursing career intersected with a night at the ballpark.

“My boyfriend [a City of Henderson firefighter] and I arrived early since he was going to march in the honor guard during the national anthem,” explained Danielle. “I saw a man fall to the ground, and my boyfriend and another firefighter checked for a pulse. He didn’t have one, so they began CPR while I found an automated external defibrillator (AED).”

The designation recognizes the hospital’s efforts in protecting patients from harm and meeting the highest safety standards in the United States.

This freestanding emergency department provides 24-hour emergency care every day of the year. It opened November 12, 2018.
